In this portfolio, I want to give a special shoutout to my incredible teammates at Gap Inc.:

Marketing Director @Suran Tran,

PR Manager @Chloe,

Digital Marketing Manager @Luna,

and Mall Marketing Manager @Sally.

Working with you all was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career!

My background in marketing has given me a deep understanding of user behaviour, business goals, and data-driven strategies.

This empowers me to design user experiences that are intuitive and aligned with real-world success metrics.

2. Education & UX Design

Why does a UX design degree matter?

Holding a master of information in User Experience Design from the University of Toronto, I've worked very closely with my teams on several UX projects.

The UXD degree taught me not to jump straight to the solution but to take a step back and think more deeply about why users behave the way they do.

What does an MBA degree mean for
UX design?

I firmly believe that "Many people understand design, and even more can curate fancy designs. However, few genuinely perceive both users in businesses and how to make design serve business objectives effectively."

My MBA background provides a strong business lens to my marketing and UX work, enabling me to assess each UX initiative's value to the organization critically.

3. Two memorable experiences

My first encounter with “design” in life.

In middle school, I spent two months as an exchange student in Brisbane, Australia.

When I first saw the Sydney Opera House, I think that was the moment I first understood what “design” truly meant to me.

Coordinated an over-60 million-visitor event

In 2010, I was proud to join the World Expo Organizing Committee as a full-time Event Coordinator, managing all international parade teams for the Shanghai World Expo.

During that six-month Expo, over 60 million visitors watched more than 180 parades, which I helped coordinate and manage.

This was, without a doubt, the most significant event I’ve ever had the opportunity to coordinate in my life.

4. My leisure time

I teach

As a CASI-certified instructor, I spend almost every winter weekend at Blue Mountain, ON, where parents recognize me as one of the most popular snowboard instructors adored by teens and children.

Throughout my career, my peers, teammates and friends have highlighted three key qualities below that define me—qualities I believe also reflect my personality.

  • Proven reliability

  • One of the most trustworthy team worker

  • Idea-promotor and Problem-solver

I believe these three qualities enable me to create designs that truly bring people a sense of joy.
